The First Methodist Episcopal Church of Protection NY. was founded November 2, 1880 by a group of twenty people. The church building was erected on land donated by Nathan E. Wheeler in 1891. It was moved 100 feet north of to its present location and a basement was added in 1910.

Many pastors have served at Protection Church in 145 years. Beginning with our first Pastor J. J. Dayton Gods the word of love will always be preached from the pulpit of Protections Church.
